Edward Smoot (1724-1795) - Charles Co., MD

In Harry Wright Newman's book on the Smoot family, he says on page 12: "On February 22, 1762, in defining the boundary of his plantation he gave his age as 38 years, therefore, placing his birth about year 1724."

Anyone know where Newman found this statement? In a deed? In a court case?

I can also be contacted directly at snkgenealogy@hotmail.com.
