Seeking descendants or anyone with knowledge of a Samuel B.(Burford?) Snead and his wife Jane (Brown) Snead. A Burford Snead married Jane Brown on 8 June 1879 in Etowah County, AL. Samuel and Jane Sneed were enumerated in the Etowah County, Alabama 1880 US Census. To date I have found no further record of them.
Samuel B. Snead was possibly a son of Samuel S. and Mary (Pew) Snead (or his previous wife, name unknown). This Samuel B. was born 1839-1842 probably in Forsyth County, Georgia (Samuel S. Snead and Mary Pew were married there 10 May 1840). He was enumerated with S. S. Snead in Henry County, GA in the 1850 US Census and with Samuel S. Sneed in Cherokee County, AL in the 1860 US Census. Probably this same person served in the Civil War with the CSA Army, 19th Alabama Infantry, Company H.
Any information that could lead to contact with a descendant in this line will be helpful. A potential yDNA test taker is sought.
