I gave one of the family numbers wrong.
The Link brothers were not living together.
In the case of Richard Sneed, you won’t find him as the guy living in Link’s household if you use Ancestry.com. He was abstracted as Richard Ineea. A search for Byrd Lynk, spelled with the two Y’s, will bring it up. It is the Southern District of Halifax County, Virginia, family/household number 881/864. Image 114. If you look at the original, you see that Ineea is not an unreasonable reading. I submitted a correction of Ineea to Sneed. When you do that, you see your own correction immediately, but it doesn’t appear to other people till it has been vetted by Ancestry.
I don’t see what the problem is with the other household. It is number 860/843 on image 112, and both names are abstracted as I gave them. Ancestry.com often reads an L for an initial S, so Silas appears as Lilas, but here it is right.
The 1850 census is for the same district, Ancestry’s image 102. The original has Micajah’s name wrong, but that was corrected earlier. In 1850, the Byrd Sneed I mentioned was enumerated next to Micajah.
I know quite a bit about that Link family. For more information, write to my email address.
