Wm. Henry SNYDER of Snyder, TX: I think I've got his parents, any interest? I've recently started looking at William Henry SNYDER who gave his name to Snyder, TX, because some of my family reputedly inherited land in Snyder, TX from him. I came across an article in the Handbook of Texas online: http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/SS/fsn9.html which says he came from Carbon Co., PA , one of seven brothers, two named Charles and Tom. Well that matches exactly to the family of my ancestor Thomas SNYDER, his wife Lavina, and their 7 sons Thomas Jefferson, Jonas Franklin, LeGrand, James H., William and Clinton SNYDER. The article and my information both agree that William was born in 1836 in Pennsylvania. My understanding is that William Henry SNYDER died without children, but I descend through William Henry's brother Thomas Jefferson SNYDER. If this connection proves out, I've got some further information going back at least one more generation. Jon Notify Administrator about this message?
