I have seven original studio photographs of Snyders from Tazewell Co., IL, McLean Co., IL, Woodford Co., IL and Pickaway Co., OH, which I would like to get back to family members.
First photo is of brothers: Marion, Will, John, Daniel and David. It is a Cabinet Portrait taken about 1895, or thereabouts. Photo shows these men all about in their 20s and 30s. In Ancestry’s One World Tree, I found the family of Henry Snyder (1826-1910) and wife Mary Creachbaum, listing ten children, including the six shown in subject line, giving their dates of birth, which match the ages shown in the photo.
In the 1870 census for Little Mackinaw (Tazewell Co.) IL, John F., Daniel F., Mary E., Sarah, David M., Marion U., Alma and Emma B. Snyder are shown.
Another photo I have is of “Jane Snyder”, taken in Bloomington (McLean Co.) IL, in about 1875-1880. This is a carte de visite photo and shows Jane about age 20. This may be the Jane who was born June 1861, daughter of Henry and Mary.
A Cabinet Portrait of “Ray Snyder” was taken in Delavan (Tazewell Co.) IL, in about 1890, and shows a little boy about six months old. Research shows that David M. Snyder, of Woodford Co., (son of Henry and Mary) was the father of a Ray Snyder.
A Cabinet Portrait of “Homer Snyder”, was taken about 1900 in Bloomington (McLean Co.) IL, and he looks to be about age 20. Ancestry files show that Homer was born 1 Oct 1882, and was son of John F. Snyder (who was son of Henry and Mary).
There are three other photos. I have not been able to locate them in censuses, but they surely are all in the same family:
- Clay Snyder, a carte de visite photo, taken in Circleville (Pickaway Co.) OH, in about 1870. He looks about age 18.
- Emma Snyder, a carte de visite photo, taken in Bloomington (McLean Co.) IL in about 1870, and she looks about age 20.
- Bert Snyder, a Cabinet Portrait, taken Bloomington (McLean Co.) IL about 1885, and he looks to be about age 15.
