Molly A. Gresavic Snyder, 98, of Johnson City, Washington Co TN, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2007 at NHC. She had been a resident of Appalachian Christian Village or Pine Oaks for the past eight years. She was born in Madera, PA, April 20, 1909 to Paul and Mary Gnapp Gresavic. She spent most of her adult life in Franklin, NJ, where she worked for Stauffer Industries. She was devoted to her family and her church. After retirement she moved to Florida where she lived independently until nine years ago. In Cape Coral she was a faithful member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. When she moved to this area, she became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she attended weekly until her health began to decline last year. The Parish at St. Mary's continued to meet her needs during the time she was confined. She looked forward to the visits and communion. She was the oldest member of the Parish. She enjoyed watching golf on television especially when Tiger Woods was playing. She divided her allegiance in baseball between the New York Yankees and the New York Mets. She recited her rosary everyday and always kept those most dear in her prayers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Snyder, and four brothers and two sisters. Surviving family members include two daughters, Cynthia Helmann and husband, Jack, Pinehurst, NC; Paula Fiory and husband, Robert, Verona, NJ; three sons, William J. Snyder and wife, Freda, Kingsport, TN; Dennis Snyder and wife, Marcia, Wantage, NJ, and James Snyder and wife, Rebecca, Fort Lauderdale, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Susan Reidy and husband John, Kathy Helmann and fiancé, Shane Elkins, Kara Baldino and husband, Matt, Eric Snyder, Brian Snyder, Justin Fiory and wife, Heather, Kyle Fiory, and Ashley Fiory; three great-granddaughters: Megan Baldino, Brenna Fiory, and baby Baldino due on Sept. 12; two sisters, Stella Daubert, Goshen, NY, Jessica Inman, Ft. Myers, FL; two brothers, Joe Gresavic, Hamburg, NJ and Pete Gresavic, Bradenton, FL and several nieces and nephews. Mass will be celebrated in her memory at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m, Saturday, September 15, 2007. At her request, Molly Snyder was cremated. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Services, 3001 Peoples Street in Johnson City, TN from 2 - 3 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's School, 2211 E. Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.
