Jo,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I am not familiar with Northumberland Co. at all, except to know where it is on a map. Is Himmel Church near Sunbury? I am only down here in Cumberland Co., but I just can't take the time to spend a whole day doing genealogy. My husband thinks I am wasting my time. (Humpf!) It's too bad the marriage records aren't earlier than the 1890s. Dauphin County's start in 1863 and I have been to the court house for a half day (well worth the time and I need to go back). My great-grandfather's first wife is probably buried up there somewhere, but I have no idea where. Are you familiar with the county's historical society? If so, are they very helpful in the area of church and cemetery records? Thank you, Jo.
