Pehr Erik was born on August 17, 1835, in the parish of Tuna as the son of Jonas Pehrsson Söderlund (worker at the saw mill) and his wife Brita Stina Bolin, who lived in the village of Rånnö. The family also lived in the parish of Bergsjöo (daughter Brita Lisa born there in 1838) and in the parish of Njurunda (son Jonas Abraham born there in 1842) before they came to the parish of Forsa in 1844. Pehr Erik Söderlund, with the soldier name Glans, came back to Tuna in 1855 and lived in Matfors, Runsvik an Ön, before he moved back to Forsa in 1860. He emigrated from there to America in 1880. (This says he emmigrated to the USA from Forsa...but records say he moved out of the parish in 1860...)

Some notes about names: Karin or Carin is often short for Katrina, Katarina, Katrin, Chatrina or Cathrina, a Swedish woman's name. You maybe know that part of the people living in Finland speak Swedish, and therefore aname like Katrin could come from either country. Karin could also sometimes be short for Kristina, but more often the name Kerstin or Stina is short for Kristina or Christina. Lax means salmon, and your spelling Locks gives the pronunciation.

Per Erik Soderlund (Glans) moved from Tuna 1860 and emigrated 1880.
