Hi Bob,
I haven't been to this website for quite awhile and was very happy to see your post.

What area do your Sompayrac's come from here in the US?

The names I am looking for were listed in a book called "An Attempt to Re-Assemble the Old Settlers in Family Groups" by Sidney Marchand Sr.

It seems to be an unusual name ... and mine are from Bordeaux France so I am hoping we have a connection.

I need to check immigration records and census records for this name in Louisiana.

My Jacque August Sompayrac married Appolonia Vessier in 1810. They had three children that I know of... my Marie Ursule, Elisa, and Marie Rose.

Can you tell me a little about your line?

Thanks,
Denise
