Thanks for the reply. Firstly, I have no photos of family members past my grandfather (b.1909 in New Zealand)
The dates you have mentioned certainly fit into things and I had that August was born in Streven, Lanenburg, Germany, which could be Lauenburg. I have that August departed on board the ship "Humboldt" from Hamburg on 30 June 1873 arriving in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia on 29 Oct 1873. He was 27. I have that his parents were Carl Sonntag and Carolina Panzer. It was Augusts' son that moved to New Zealand. I hope you can help me spread more light onto this.
