Haven't been able to do genealogy for a year and am finally trying to get caught up. Briefly for now, we have a Philip Sontag who first appears in the Buffalo, NY census in 1860 at about the age of 24- can't recall right off the top of my head. The genealogy of Theodore Hull which I found on line lists him as being born in Mettendorf, Prussia. Some of his descendents went to PA but most appear to have stayed in the Buffalo area. Hope this helps for now. Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten and will send more as I find it. But maybe you've been able to break through that wall by now.
Mary
