Tom, I was interested in your message stating that you had a considerable amount of information about the Vigne family surname. It is my belief that this spelling was the fore-runner of the current version of Vines, although sometimes it was written as Vignes or even de Vigne. I think it was probably a French Hugenot name, that gradually changed when they were forced to leave their country. Any historical data that you have would be very interesting, and could perhaps help to fill-in certain gaps from the past, if it is of any help my e-mail address is vinesrobert@hotmail.com
