Perhaps Sorbier? The Huguenots left France after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685. Many went to Germany and became "Germanized" I have a Schappell/Shappell, etc. family in my gedcom that was originally Chappelle. There are many other examples of these families traveling with the Palatines to Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Sweden was one of the most powerful Protestant kingdoms at this time. Not out of the question the Sorbers' were recruited in Germany during the Thirty Years War and fought for the Swedes, before eventually coming to Pa. All speculation of course.......
