Betty, per previous post; Blanchflower Duncan Sr, who I think connects to Job Sosebee (my Y-DNA cousin) was living in Bute Co, NC in 1760's....Same place Job Sosebee joined RW before he moved to SC and same place John Golighty was living (found with Job Sosebee in SC).
Now to your Duncan side of your family. I'm positive I know where your Mayfields were located in same time frame (they came to Bute Co, NC from Spotsylvania Co Va, I believe. My ancestor was on Smith's Creek in Bute Co, NC and a Peter Duncan was on Cabbin Creek (next door). These Kendrick & Mayfields were in same area and I'm betting you have a Kendrick connection too. Blanchflower Duncan Sr. & John Golightly were only a couple of miles away. Also, just below Smith's Creek, on Owens creek lived a John Jackson. He had a daughter Abigail who married either a John or Peter Duncan ... The Jacksons moved to SC and Abigail appears in her father's Will with Duncan children. Could this be your Duncans ?????
