I descend the widow of Cabarrus County, North Carolina militia, War of 1812, Pvt. John Sossaman; Mrs. Emelia 'Milly' Fisher Sossaman, by her second husband John 'Henry' Miller. Milly Miller was Henry Miller's second wife, the first being a Harris. Henry ran the Sossaman-Miller-Foil Mill on Deutch Buffalo Creek, Cabarrus Co., N.C.,untill Milly's Sossaman children came of age. The foundation and three millstones can be still seen on the right bank of Dutch Buffalo Creek, downriver of the bridge below the Mt. Pleasant waterworks. The 1700's mill ran untill the 1900's advent of electricity and the machinery was removed to a neareby crossroads, and still operates. I remember penciled on one wooden hopper was the date of the first man to fly over Cabarrus County by a witness. Milly Sossaman/Miller's father was DAR/SAR Patriot Capt.Frederick Fisher, Jr. (son of Frederick & Sybilla Fisher,Sr.) by his first wife (most join on second wife Ann McBride). I descend Milly's son John Cyrus Miller,1811-1893,who removed to Zeb/Franklin, Old Mocksville Road, Rowan County, North Carolina. Jim Miller,Southport, North Carolina
