Benj. Franklin, Penn., had a friend, Samuel James, Esq., who in the early 1700's, remove to the "Welsh Tract", Onslow County, North Carolina, where he was a courthouse official. I may descend his son Joshua James? His other sons were Jacob, Enoch, and Isaac. His wife was Sarah, and many believe she was an AlBriton. Do you know anything about her?

I descend John Henry Miller by 2nd wife, the widow Mrs. Emelia 'Milly' Fisher Sossaman of Cabarrus Co., N.C. Henry ran the Foil-Sossaman-Miller mill on Dutch Buffalo Creek, untill his Sossaman step-children came of age.

Circa the early 1800's, my Thomas Malone, Sr., Esq., was U.S. Land Office agent, magistrate, asst. Indian agent; at Ft. st. Stephens, Ala.; where a Sossamon silversmith also lived. Did that Sossaman have a daughter who became Mrs. Mary S. Malone; Malone's wife? I don't know who Mary's parents were?

James A. Miller Jr, 4978 N. Hampton Dr., Southport,NC 28461
