Mrs. Mary Miller Sossaman (of Cabarrus Co., N.C.?) was the daughter of who? My Col. Gilbert Christian Russell, Sr., 3rd U.S. Infantry, 1815 Mobile, Alabama; is buried Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile, across from the Confederate internments. Next to him is an old Sossaman grave, but in a different family lot. I descend his daughter, Ann Maria Russell, who wed Mobile/Galveston cotten broker, Capt Edward Malone, Sr., CSA. Was there a Mary S. (Sossaman?)(d Milford, Ala., Jan 14, 1838, age 49) of Mobile, who wed War of 1812, Capt. Thomas Malone, Sr., from Warren Co., N.C. (via Wake Co.), U.S. Land Office Agent, U.S. Magistrate, Asst. U.S. Indian Agent, Ft. St. Stephens, Ala. (died Milford Feb 17, 1850, age 78).? His father was Rev. War, Ens. Wood Malone, of Malone's Mill Creek, Warren Co., N.C.
