Thanks for responding to my posting. My family line is as follows:
James South/Jemima Quigley
Keziah South/ Hutchins (or Hutchings)Allen
Charlotte Allen/Thomas Carr
Lucy Carr/Franklin P. Walker
Frank E. Walker/Martha Smith
Russell Walker/Janet Smart
I was wondering if you are the Donald South my aunt corresponded with about 20 years ago. Her name was Kay Benton. She was instrumental in putting our family genealogy together but is now confined to a facility for Alzheimer's patients. About six months ago I was lucky enough to be the recipient of most of her documentation (some was discarded shortly after she was hospitalized) and would like to carry on where she left off. Among her documents were pages from a Bible (the one you refer to in your posting.) They are poor quality reproductions - almost unreadable. Do you have better quality copies? Also, do you know what documentation was used to determine that James South married Jemima Quigley. I have a copy of James South's will but it does not list a wife. I have been unable to locate any documentation on Jemima Quigley. The book "History of Clermont County, Ohio" shows that James South came to the county from NJ in 1800 and lists his children but not a wife. I know this line goes back to the Mayflower and I'm hoping to formalize that through the Mayflower Society but my real interest is in gathering actual stories on these people's lives. If you have any additional information on any of these people I would love to hear about it. Thanks so much.
