Just bumped into your query on Michael South in Oregon. I have a lot of info on his family BUT where do you fit in? Seems like the Souths in the west didn't keep in touch with each other like the Souths in the east didn't either.

Michael's father was Peter who married Eleanor 'Nellie' Cowan. His father was William South (Rev War soldier) who married Hannah Malott. I have never seen any proof of William's parentage but certainly NOT the son of Benjamin & Keziah as John South claims.

William (who married Hannah Malott), Daniel who married Susannah McCoy were brothers for certain. Also there was a James South who states he was a brother of Wm but he was NOT the James South who married Jemima Quigley and went to Tate Twp, Clermont Co, OH. Think the Benjamin South 'of Washington Co, MD' to have been a brother --also Zedekiah South who married Mary McCabe abd Lippenton South who married Edith McCabe. Now to prove all that!!

Would Like to exchange info.

Don South
