Many years ago after I purchased Norma Tucker's book, "Colonial Virginians and their Maryland Relatives". Tucker had as a child of George Thompson (will 1690 St. James Clerenwell, Middlesex, Esq mentioned South grandchildren... "Issue: A-daughter who md George South of Westmoreland Co.,VA. On 4 Mar 1695, with the consent of his daughter Tamer, George South indentured her to the service of James and Marthy Westcomb to serve for three years....etc; Note that IT DOESN'T say George South married on 4 Mar 1695 (look at the period)--the ONLY wife my George SOUTH had was Isabella whose maiden name is UNKNOWN. Isabella had to go to court and was in trouble when daughter Tamer came back home complaining of the treatment that Westcombs treated Tamer.
Years ago I got so excited thinking that my Isabella was a daughter of George Thompson;therefore, I went to the English records. I have stacks of documents which prove that my George SOUTH'S children were not the SOUTH children mentioned in George Thompson's will.
Isabella is NOT Isabella Thompson dau. of George (a merchant who lived in VA & England). I spent a week in SLC library and found data (christening, marriage, and etc;) Isabella Thompson who married a John SOUTH and had children George, John and etc; SOUTH. She is too young for my Isabell and she and her family NEVER left England. I have in my possession all data on that Isabella Thompson SOUTH and she is NOT MINE!
PLEASE take my word for it because this is the truth.
