Jerry Curtis South, Sr. b. Mar 24, 1866 in Franklin Co, KY married Ellen Chappell Hargis. Jerry was the son of Samuel South & Malvery Blackwell Jett.
Jerry & Ellen had one son, Jerry Curtis South, Jr. b. Dec 15, 1909 Mountain Home, AR. Jerry South, Jr. was Commander of the U.S.S. HAROLD J. ELLISON super-destroyer commissioned at the New York Navy Yard, Brooklyn, on June 23, 1945.
Jerry Curtis South, Sr. attended the KY Military institute, the university of Louisville, and the university of Virginia. He served three times as a member of the house of representatives of Arkansas; a member of the state senate, and served with distinction as lieutenant-governor. In 1892 and in 1896 he was a delegate to the national democratic convention; and has filled various other public positions of honor. He was one of the foremost lawyers of Arkansas at Mountain Home. He is the author of a genealogical work on the South family.

Would appreciate any information on the spouse of Jerry Curtis South, Jr. (Doris Hutton) or the son of Jerry Curtis South, Jr. (Raymonde South). Advise if more information is needed.
