On the 1850 census for Elizabeth, Allegheny Co, PA there is a Susanna South age 35 with a son James age 5. They are living at the house of Alexander Barr age 57. Not sure what the relation would be, if any. In 1870 James is now living with John Disbrow and his wife Rebecca. James now has a, wife Eliza (presumably) and she is now living in the same house. There is no sign of Susanna at this house. Based on previous info that James may have been the nephew of John Disbrow, then the wife of John Disbrow, Rebecca b. abt 1801 could have been Rebecca South. I can't nail down a Rebecca South born in this time frame that matches. Presumably this Rebecca would have been the sister of James' father.
I believe that Susanna would have been the mother of James b. abt 1815.
Hope this helps.
