Carl Adamson was my Great-Grandmother's second husband. On his death-bed, he confessed to my father who was 5 or 6 at the time. He confessed that he was in on the Garrett assassination and that Jim Miller, who was married to my GGGmother's cousin, had done the killing. My dad was alone with Carl and Carl must have thought it was safe to confess to someone who might not understand all that was being told to him. Many years later my father asked his grandmother about this and she confirmed that indeed it was Jim Miller. I have been hunting the book that gives Carl's name as Homer South. I will let you know as soon as I can locate it in my house.
