Hi. Thanks for answering. Elkana and Agnes Haddow sound right. They had 7 children: Louis, William (nicknamed "Black Bill" because of his dark hair), Joe, Ted, Margaret, Nelly and Hazel. Elkana came to Canada with at least one brother, Dan. We think the other brother went out West, maybe to Alberta. But we can't remember his name. Dan had four children Viola, Fred, George and Alf. Elkana and Dan both settled in northern Ontario near Calendar, Ontario, which is near Lake Nippissing.
William "Black Bill" was my grandfather. He married Alma MacDonald and had four children: Mary, Audrey, Willard (who died as a baby)and Eric (nicknamed "Mac"). Eric married Diane Johnson. They are the parents of Sheri. Me. If you ever find out what part of England Elkana and Dan come from. Could you let me know? Someday I would like to visit there.
Thank you, Sheri
