Hello! I am a descendant of Ezekiel Asbury also. William South was my great uncle, brother of my grandmother Dora Angeline South Dillard. Ezekiel's parents were Elijah b. abt. 1793 and Rhoda Andrews b. abt. 1800. Elijah's parents were (I think!) Joseph South b. 1771 and Mary Box b. 1771. Uncle William's wife said that the South's came to SC colony in the 1600s from France, which makes me think they probably were Hugeunots escaping persecution. Too bad I wasn't interest in genealogy when Uncle "Willie" and Aunt Beulah were living as well as all the other great aunts and uncles--a vast storehouse of info now gone. Ezekiel and Nancy's son Elijah Franklin was my great grandfather. His siblings were: Virginia, John, Rebecca, Jerucia, Sarah George, Cordellia, Marion. The record that I have shows Joseph and Mary having Elijah, Joseph, Jr., Josiah, Mary, Fanny.

I grew up in Winfield AL (Marion Co.)The Souths lived in (I think!) neighboring counties Lamar and Fayette. If any of this fits with your line, let me know. Dortha
