I am from this line as well. I knew Fred Hughes as "Uncle Fred" as a child. He would often stop at our house during his travels in his VW bug. I foundly remember frying my mom frying up some squirel at his request (he was quite old at that time).

Mary Cordelia South was my GGrandmother. She was from a prominent Fayette county GA family who came from Larens co, SC in the early 1800's. She was married to James Ollie Goolsby. I am descended from her daughther Vivan Benson (Goolsby). I have a ton of info on these lines going back into the 1400's. If you have Family tree maker let me know and I'll email my file. Attached is a good Goolsby file I just found on this site that lists Mary http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/s/m/i/William-Smith-AL/GENE2-0001.html?Welcome=988690455
