Margaret. My family left South Africa (now in UK)in 1957. My father was Vincent South (1916-1977)and his father was Oliver Walter South (1893-1946) (father: Oliver Walter South 1855-?, mother:Mary King 1862-1940) who was a grandson of Samuel South.
Family history has claimed that the South's were 1820 settlers but I am unable to make a connection between William South who is listed as a passenger in Mouncey's party and the Oliver Walter South born in 1855.
Does this agree with your information?
Richard
