Just got your message, my dad is Merritt South, only he and his sister Florence are still alive. He was always interested in his family history and I thought I would do a little research. The problem I am finding is that doing anything with a last name of South is difficult, every hit I get is for a direction or location. I was able to gather quite alot on Mariah Priscilla Dumford, but not very much on Frank. He told my dad that he, Frank, was adopted and that his real last name was Stahl, but I haven't been able to confirm that and on his SSA application he listed his father as Albert South and his mother as Rosa Brown. My dad's memory is a little shakey these days, and I sure wish I had paid attention when I was younger. Where do you fit in??

By the way Annie's last husband was Buford Griffin (love that name Buford) and her grandson Frankie was living with her before she died, but I haven't been able to find him or even confirm it was her grandson, she was old when I was a kid and I really don't remember her having any children.

Let me know what you know!!
