OK....I connect to the South's through the Pittenger family. Wondering if someone can clear this picture up for me!
I have Jacob South born 4/12/1838 died 10/12/1919 married Sarah E. Kithcart 3/24/1866 (she was born 8/22/1841 and died 2/23/1920.
Obituary for Jacob South reads:
Jacob South, of near Swartswood, passed away at his home
on October 12, at the age of eighty-one. His health had been poorly during
the winter and spring months, but he had somewhat recuperated until two
weeks ago, when he was again prostrated. Mr. South has always lived near
Swartswood. He a veteran of the Civil War. Besides his widow, he leaves two
daughters, one son and a grandson, Mrs. Garret Pittenger, of Swartswood,
Mrs. George Manning, of Pennsylvania, Henry South and Horace VanTassel at
home. The funeral was held in Baleville church, Rev. Mr. Hoffman
officiating. Interment in Baleville cemetary.

Wondering who Jacob's parent's were and if there were any other children. Obituary says there is a grandson, Horace Van Tassel - who is this off of. Which daughter was married to George Manning?
Any help is sooooooooooo appreciated!
