Looking for informaton on John G. South b abt 1819 in Canada West immigrated to U.S. Pa area. Married Betsey (Elizabeth?) Gross in 1830s. Children: John b abt 1837 in Pa., Elizabeth b abt 1842 in Oh, George b abt 1846 in Mi, Charles b abt 1849 in Mi and Elias b abt 1852 in Mi. Betsey disappears between Elias' birth and the next census in 1860. In 1870 census shows a Martha b abt 1844 in Pa. 'keeping house' daughters Mary b abt 1860 and Fannie b abt 1843 in Mi. 'at home' in John G. South's household, as well as Harriet Root who would become Elias' first wife.
