I learned that many Confederate prisoners of this prison enlisted in the 2nd and 3rd Inf Reg of the U.S. Army. I learned that a brother of my gg grandmother Margaret E McCaslin Martin who was named William McCaslin was one of these men and he joined the 2nd Inf. He earlier had been in many CSA units from the state of AR. I believe my gg grandfather William Martin may have enlisted in the U.S. Army also. Does anyone know if there is a list of the prisoners of Rock Island Prison anywhere?
