My grandfather was Stanley Sowinski and he came to America and settled in Brooklyn in the early 1920's. He met my grandmother here, another Polish immigrant, Michaelina Preisz. Two of my uncles (his sons) were Richard Sowinski and Edward Sowinski. The names are so close that I wonder if there is a family connection. Stanley's brothers, who came from Poland with him, were Zigmund and Roman. Both of them later relocated to Babylon on Long Island. My mother was Stacia (Stanislawa) Sowinski and her sisters were Regina, Elizabeth and Adelle Sowinski. If you're interested, or think we might have a family connection, I could probably help with some background from the Sowinski family prior to leaving Poland.
