FOUND--the John Spaeth I have been looking for has been found. Born 9-18-1818 in Lauf, Bavaria. There are 6 towns by the same name in Bavaria. The Lauf near is near Zapfendorf, in the Dom of Bamberg. Clue was from the ship's records, Brig Bohl Bohlen, Bremen to Philadelphia,arrive Aug. 1,1846. Located by identifying his parents, Michael Spaeth and Ursula Gebel, thru the death records of a Michael born in 1816,died 19.05.1877 in Lauf at the age of 62. Info on file in Zapfendorf city records. All Bamberg Catholic church records destroyed by fire 1.4.1945. Thanks for all of your help.
