While researching another name in the 1900 US Census for New York, Manhattan borough, New York taken on 4 June 1900, I came across the following person:
Clara SPATH servant, w,f, June,1874 S, New York, Germany, Germany, general housework
Clara was working in the household of William BLECHMAN(?)71 a widower fr Austria. He was a shoe merchant. There were many others in this household at 64 East 124th Street.
