I am looking for any information on Spath family. My Spath family came from Baden, Ger. and were Catholic. Joseph Spath b. abt. 1830 in Baden d. abt 1900 along the MS River possibly close to St. Louis. I found him on New Orlean's 1850 census. Had a child in Ohio in 1858. He is on Copiah Co. MS's 1860 census. He had a child in MS in 1866. He fought in the Civil War. He had twin boys in Lou. KY in 1869. He was on the Harrison Co., IN census of 1880. His wife was Mary Mess/Meis. I can't find when or where he entered US. He was a stone mason by trade. It looks like he liked and traveled the rivers.
