Beverly: I am unable to "attachments".The short story is that Moses & his several brothers settled in Loughborough Township, Frontenac County.Moses md. Elizabeth Boice, born 1799 to Benjamin & Margaret Bartley Boice.Moses & Eliz. md, mg. is recorded in a newspaper acc't. 3 sons to this mg. in Loughborough. By 1829 Moses died, and Elizabeth marries Donald Nicholson (also recorded newspaper) who is some years younger if any known dates are fairly accurate. I think, & think only, that Donald is a relative through a Bartley-Nicholson mg.Something happens, the estate is depleted according to the court records that happen when the guardian assigned to children, Elijah, Robert & Stephen Miles Spafford asks to be released from guardianship as Donald Nicholson "is under a charge of felony" & has fled the country and "the court fears Elizabeth will do likewise". A relative, believed to be BIL Elias Jackson, h/o Eliz.'s sister, Hannah charges the "estate" for provisions provided to the children of Moses. The legalese continues and a Nicholas Amey, William Boice (probably Eliz' uncle) & Yerrigh Earle are assigned as guardians. The interesting thing about this paperwork is those who couldn't sign names, made fingerprint marks!! Nicholas Amey & Yerrigh Earle are probably related to Elizabeth or Spafford children in some manner. I've seen the "items" about Stephan Miles being a "developer" (for lack of better word)Will County, and he, or ancestor by that name was also in U. C. if not a relative to Spafford's as you know one son of Elizabeth is Stephen Miles and Irinda Spafford in a legal proceeding in Canada at death of Elijah asks court for son Stephan Miles Spafford to be named executor. The "Ontario Register" Series, a republication of the Ontario Historical society and probable available on FHL film loan as well as available on CD from FTM will provide info concerning deaths/etc of other c/o Elijah and Irinda Skinner Spafford.Elizabeth is my 2nd great-aunt and I have collected this info in original source research of my 2nd great grandfather Benjamin Boice of Loughborough who incidentally was living with Elizabeth Boice Spafford Nicholson. Do you know what happened to chi of Donald & Elizabeth.I haven't done any on site research in Will County I have used the LDS Family History Library centers & ordered in film of pertinent area. It is probable that Donald's felony offense may have been in connection with the Ryerson faction, or the "internal commotions" (their word) that Upper Canada was experiencing in that time frame. If you have not accessed the Ontario Gen'l Society, you might find that useful.I will e-mail off line when I can access my paper records and give you source citations. Gladys
