I have a Charles M. Spain (aka Charley) b. 1870 in MS married Minnie Owen (b. 1872) in 1891 in Madison Co., MS. They lived in Koscisko, MS (Attala Co.) at the 1900 census. Charles Spain's parents are listed as being born in MS on the 1900 census, but I have had no luck finding out who they are. Children were Ellis, Gordon, Ruby, and Eugene. Minnie died about 1903 and Charles remarried Elizabeth Philips in 1906. Had one daughter named Tina (or Ethel?), who was born 6/3/1912. She lived in Memphis, TN. Charles died in Greenville, MS (Washington county) about 1952-53. Somehow, there is a TN Spain connection with this family, but I have yet to figure it out. Any of these names ring a bell with you?
