Thank you so much for the encouragement. This is my husband's grandfather and he thinks it's impossible. I agree with you completely that there is an element of truth in every story and I'm sure that's the case in this one. The Internet has opened up just fantastic possibilities. It's entirely possible that someone may have heard a similar story passed down and may decide to respond. Who knows? It may serve as encouragement to others as well to know that there were many, many things that happened to families in those days and that many have been found and reunited either in person or "on the tree".
