Upon the death of Fitzgerald MURPHY in Phoenix, AZ in 1906, the following was posted in the Arizona Republican:
"At the outbreak of the Spanish-American War he lived in Chicago and assisted in the raising of a regiment of reserves, being commissioned as one of the captains. The regiment, however, was never called upon for field duty."
Fitzgerald MURPHY was also called JOHN Fitzgerald MURPHY. I wonder if there might be any way I could find out about this heretofore adventure in the life of my cousin?
