Here are the dates for several of the eleven siblings: Dora born 2-2-1887, died 9-19-1915 Moffatt b. 12-18-1888, d. 9-3-1915 Luther b. 5-23-1893, d. 7-25-1916 Josephine b. 7-24-1906, d. 4-12-1923 Robert b. 11-27-1912 d. 11-25-1937 The other six siblings lived full lives. Robert didn't die during the "nineteens" but may have been exposed to whatever the others succumbed to?? Looking at the birth date of Moffatt, he would only have been around 10 years old when he went off the the Spanish American War. Not totally impossible, but highly unlikely. (Drummer boys, stable hands, etc.) Does this offer any help? I'm inclined to think that perhaps he may have served during WW I instead of the S.A.War. Perhaps he was sent to a far southern climate for training and contracted whatever it was that he brought home?? Notify Administrator about this message?
