I have a photo of my grgr uncle Albert Edward Williams in uniform holding a bugle and with a holstered pistol at his side. I think the insignia on his hat indicates Infantry (or a musician? it looks like a bugle). There are tassels hanging from his bugle. He has a double stripe down the sides of his trousers and he's wearing a collared shirt. Both pants and shirt are blue. A narrow white band is around each arm just above each elbow.
I have checked the Spanamwar website but just can't seem to pin down any more info. Albert's family was in Tennessee in 1900 but he was not with them. He may have been in Bristol, Virginia so I'm not sure if he represented Va or Tn. His tombstone does not list any military information. Are there anymore clues in his photo?
Any tips would be very appreciated!!!
