Nancy, I would be interested in any Speegle/Spegal service during the Civil War.
My gggg-grandfather, Johannes Martin Speegle Jr, moved on to Kentucky and left his family here in Alabama. I am descended from his son Michael. Johannes brother Samuel Speegle, and sister, Catherine Speegle Fifer were living in Kentucky at the time.I have all three dying in Nicholas County, Kentucky. Are you a descendant of this clan?
I have Samuel's children as Martin, b. abt 1788; Margaret, b. btn 1788/1794; John, b. btn 1788/1794; Samuel Jr, b. btn 1788/1794; Mary, b. btn 1794/1800; Sarah, b. btn 1794/1800; Elizabeth, b. btn, 1794/1800; Daniel, b. btn 1800/1810; and Philip, b. btn 1800/1810; and possibly a Pauline, b. btn 1804/1810.
If you like you can E-mail me at [email protected]. I have some of the descendants of Samuel's children but I am far from being complete. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
