Hello Terri and thanks for your response. Sorry for not responding to your reply sooner but the Holidays and all.
I am very happy to hear from someone with a similar story about their family. If you would like I would like to exchange some family genealogy to see if and how we are related. You are the first Speight that spells there last name without an ‘s’ on the end that I might have a connection with. I have suspected that our name has got changed but I have not found any evidence of this only the fact I cannot locate any connections past my Great Great Grand-Father.
To get started with here is some info I have on my oldest relatives.
Great Great Grand-Father – James Albert Speights b.n/a-d.n/a – wife Louise Mills b.n/a-d.n/a
Children of James Albert - Alphorns Speights b.n/a-d.n/a
Armalie Speights b.n/a-d.n/a
Lula Speights b.n/a-d.n/a
Malvin Speights b.n/a-d.n/a
Manley Speights b.n/a-d.n/a
Octavia Speights b.n/a-d.n/a
Willy Speights b.n/a-d.n/a
James Marion Speights b. January 27, 1872-d. April 08, 1963 (my Great Grand-Father)
Adolphus G. Speights b. May 07, 1882-d.n/a
Some of the names may not have the correct spelling but this is what I was giving from other family members that have worked on the family tree. I hope we can find a connection.
