SPELLMAN in NYC
Hi!I am trying to unpuzzle my Russian Jewish family in NYC.My grandmother's memory wasn't great, but she did remember quite a bit, though some was slightly mixed up.The Augus/Novick family left either Bialystok, Poland or Vilnius, Lithuania for probably Pennsylvania, and then they went to NYC.Looks like about 1902, but maybe earlier. They seem to have stayed in the Bronx mostly.Family legend has it that Fannie married Sam Novick and the two of them took her brothers and sisters posed as THEIR children to Ameica, so they should all be Novick's on legal documents. Please let me know if you can confirm any of this or recognize some of it.
