Have you been able to find anymore information on the Spickett's? My mother's maiden name is Spickett and I have been trying to help her do a family tree. I have been able to get back to about 1819, and the name seems to come from the Kent area of England.
Do you know when the family emigrated?
Not sure if it helps, but might be worth a try to see if you can find the parents information in census records for that area.
