Spikes of Flamborough

I am particularly interested in the village of Flamborough, and may be able to help with some details of the Spike families there. James Spike married Ann, surname not known at present. I also have a daughter, Ann, b. 1775, no further details. The second Sarah Spike married Benton Traves, b. 1796, Marsh Chapek, Lincolnshire. They do not appear to have had any children. Richard Spike, married Ann, surname unknown, and they had a son, Hewson Spike, b. 1809 in Marsh Chapel, Lincolnshire.

There are three adjecent graves at Flamborough which are part of the family. The inscriptions are:

In memory of Sarah the wife of Benton Traves and daughter of James and Ann Spike who departed this life on the 27th of June 1854 aged 70 years. (Buried 30th June)

Sacred to the memory of Ann, the wife of Jame Spike Senior of Flambro who departed this life on the 26th of July 1818 aged 65 years. Hard was my life and with affliction bound; but now I lie at rest beneath the ground; My soul is safe within my Jesus' arms; freed from the World and safe from deaths alarms. (Buried 28 July)

Sacred to the memory of James Spike Senior of Flambro who departed this life on the 18th of December 1827 aged 80 years. Why should we mourn departed friends, or shake at death's alarms, 'tis but the voice that Jesus sends, to call us to his arms' (Buried 20th December)

The only other Spike gravestone at Flamborough reads:

James Spike, 1828, In quiet may thy dust repose; Beneath this friendly stone; When living best was lov'd by those; To whom thou best was known. (Buried Dec 23 1828, aged 52)

Hope this is some interest to those with descendants from Flamborough.
