Land Sale to Brian Spike - 25 May 1811.
This INDENTURE made and concluded the Twenty fifth Day of May in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Eleven Between Darius Smith of the Township of Kingston in the county of Frontenac in the Midland District and Province of Upper Canada, black smith, of the one part and Brian Spike of the Township of Portland, in the county of Frontenac in the Midland District and Province of Upper Canada, Yeoman of the other part Witness that for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five Pounds Current Money of the province of Upper Canada to him the said Darius Smith in hand paid by the said Brian Spike, at or before the sealing and delivery of .....
of the said Darius Smith both here acknowledge have Granted bargained and solo aliened released and confirm and by there presences do grant bargain and sell alien Release and Confirm unto the said Brian Spike his heirs and assigns all that certain tract or parcel of Land situated lying and being in the township of Portland in the County of Frontenac in the Midland District and Province of Upper Canada Containing by ad measurement two Hundred Acres be the same more or less being lot Number Seven in the Sixth Concession of the Laid Township of Portland which said Two hundred acres of land are butted and bounded or may be otherwise known as follows that is to say Commencing in front of the said Concession at the South East angle of the said Lot; Then North Sixty Seven Chains, Forty links more or less to the allowance for the Road in the rear of the said Concession. ...

in front of the laid concession; then East Twenty Nine Chains Eighty links
more or less to the beginning, together with all woods, ways, waters and watercourses there on lie with all and singular the [wereditaments] and appurtenances there to belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, Remainder and Remainders, Rents .... and profits there of and all the Estate. Right little property interest claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Darius Smith of in and to the said lands and principles and every part and parcel there of within the appurtenances to have and to hold the said Land and premises and every part and parcel there of with the appurtenances unto the said Brian Spike his heirs and Assigns free of all incumbrances and Reservations .... only proper use and be.... in the original grant from the Crown to him for ever ---- in witness of the said Brian Spike.
Let our hand and Seals the Day and Year before written at the Township of Ernestown in the Midland District and province of Upper Canada.
