NOTE: CORRECTED E-MAIL ADDRESS. Otherwise this posting is the same with a few added commas.--- Hi Theresa! Elizabeth Spike who married John Buchanan was a daughter of Charles Spike, and his wife, Elizabeth. Charles Spike died in Halifax in 1777. His widow, Elizabeth married William Blenkinsop. (I have nothing else on Blenkinsop). Charles Spike and his wife, Elizabeth, had (as far as I know to date) daughters, Elizabeth, Sarah, Ann and Charlotte. They had sons Daniel, William Drake, and Charles. The latter two sons, and the youngest daughter, Charlotte, were born in Halifax. The only son to survive to adulthood, was Daniel, (born in England), who married Grace Cullymore in 1787. Elizabeth who married John Buchanan later married Henry Atkins. Both men held prominent positions. I have not been able to connect John Buchanan to anyone. As far as I know Elizabeth Buchanan Atkins had no children. My family documents support this. Sarah, who married Duckett, was a sister of Daniel. Henry Spike who married Mitchell (note spelling) and Ann Spike who married Robert Kerr were the children of Daniel Spike and Grace Cullymore. Ann Spike, Daniel Spike's sister, married John Brittain, - hence the name of Daniel Spike's youngest son: Brittain.
