The Spikes found in the Platte County, Nebraska obituaries are not related to most other Spikes due to a name change. Walter Spike's grandfather, Lars Spike, changed his name from Spike Lars Anderson in the late 1800s due to his mail frequently getting mixed up with other Andersons. This Spike family came from Dalarna, Sweden.
