The later census has them listed as being called Speight but by the time my Great Grandad married he had reverted back to Spike. His Grandfather was called Isaac Spike born Cumberland 1816 ish and his Grandmother was called Mary born Whickham around 1818 ish. He had an aunt called Grace Spike born Whickham 1859, an uncle called William Spike born Whickham 1844 and an uncle called John born Whickham 1863.
